Community Guidelines
Last updated: June 2026 (draft) · Version 2026-06-draft-1
The JoviNP community is a professional learning commons, not social media. These rules keep it safe, useful, and legally sound for everyone. Members accept these guidelines at signup and again before posting.
The non-negotiable rules
- No protected health information — no patient names, charts, images, record numbers, or identifying details.
- No individualized patient-care directives — discuss general reasoning, never what to do for a specific identified patient.
- No supervision given or received — this is peer education, not oversight.
- No emergency or crisis requests — follow your own emergency and institutional protocols.
- No legal, tax, or financial advice presented as individualized advice.
- No harassment, discrimination, or unprofessional conduct.
- No promotional spam or unapproved solicitation.
What good participation looks like
- Ask “how do clinicians generally reason through situations like this?”
- Share fully de-identified, generalized teaching scenarios only.
- Be generous, specific, and professional.
- Cite sources where you can; flag state-specific and time-sensitive points.
- Respect that every member retains sole responsibility for their own practice.
Moderation
Moderators may remove or redact content, lock threads, issue warnings, and suspend or remove members who violate these guidelines. Reports are reviewed promptly. Posts pass an automated identifier pre-flight check as a safety aid — it is not a guarantee, and you remain responsible for de-identifying your own content. Moderation actions are logged.
Direct messaging
Private one-to-one messaging is intentionally not available. It would create an unmoderated channel where protected health information could be shared, which conflicts with our no-PHI-by-design commitment.
In an emergency
The community is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number; in the U.S., the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7.
